The story of Sathyakama and the lessons he received is said in C.U. (ch#4). Sathyakama is a brilliant boy enthusiastic about the real wisdom. The poor background did not hinder him in his eagerness to learn Atmavidya. So he went straight to his teacher. The teacher asked him about his family lineage, for that the boy replied his mother’s word that she served in many houses and by whom he was born is not known. The great master Haridrumata Gautama accepted the boy for his truthfulness and declared him as a Brahmin.

The ancient gurus taught both rich and poor. Though all of them work for the institute and gurus, the poor work more for they are not able to pay the fees. Sathyakama was a poor boy, so he was given four hundred old cows and told him to return to ashram when the cows get multiply into a thousand. When the condition is satisfied, Sathayakama commenced his return journey. On the way he met gurus such as a bull, a fire, a swan, a bird which respectively are symbolism for Vayu, Agni, Aditya and Prana. They taught him that Brahman is everywhere.

The guru Haridrumata Gautama got wondered as he found Sathyakama shine with the wisdom of Atmajnana and he taught him rest of the lessons in prana vidya. Breath is an activity of prana, nervous system working is another and more important activity of prana. Prana is the main instrument in mental consciousness. All living organisms and even inanimate objects have prana. Prana is the Divine form of Conscious Force (Chit-Shakti).
